The moral of the story is that slow and steady wins the race, but is that really the point? Sure, winning is good, but isn’t life much richer if you stop along the way and enjoy the scenery or even take a nap or two? It’s okay not to win as long as you make the most of the journey. Much respect to the tortoise and his undeniable work ethic, but we are just fine living like the hare, but maybe without all of the hubris.
Linocut prints are made by individually hand carving each color “image” onto a linoleum block. For this print, that is one each for blue, green, brown and black. Then each color block is coated with ink and pressed onto the paper, allowing time for each to dry before moving to the next color.
Printed on an 8” x 10” sheet of acid free, lightweight printmaking paper with non-toxic polymerized vegetable oil inks.
