Who doesn’t like a beetle? They occupy that safe space somewhere between the revolting cockroach and the fear inducing spider, but maybe not quite as cuddly as a ladybug. We are no entomologists but it is our understanding that they are good to have in the garden, providing pest and weed control. Still, they are a little hard to manage in the house, so we will just stick to this print for the indoors.

Linocut prints are made by individually hand carving each color “image” onto a linoleum block. For this print, that is one each for purple and black. Then each color block is coated with ink and pressed onto the paper, allowing time for each to dry before moving to the next color.

Printed on an 8” x 10” sheet of acid free, lightweight printmaking paper with non-toxic polymerized vegetable oil inks.
